To a good team, nothing. It doesn't effect them at all. That's the point. GvG is about who has the better team build, not who can ninja someone who isn't even a player.

The priest would only be an ADVANTAGE, but it should not be the goal.

You got my vote to get rid of NPCs althogether in ranked PvP matches.
NPCs can be a "neat" feather and a fun style to play if you want to just play a certain type of match, (protect the king, protect the priest, yadda yadda)
I honestly wouldnt get rid of them altogether. In fact, I hope they add more match types with more varity over the next few months.
But for a serious match, where player fame and guild ranking are involved, it should come down to team vs. team with little in the way of interfering.
NPCs will always fall victim to human ingenuity in givin time.
Why set up an AI for players to exploit (we have and we will continue too) to win or lose?

Im spreading this suggestion around hoping it catches someones eye:

This would be far more respectable for ranked Guild matches than whats already avalibule, because; it requires smart builds on the fly and quick stradigizing - a better test of skill.

Best out of 7 match.
First round - teams play thier builds.
There is a winner/loser.
2 minute time out and players readjust there builds.
Second round - teams play thier new builds.
etc.
Best out of 7 wins.

If a team is so defensive it will not die and the match last forever, here is a solution.

If you team takes the flag stand, a 1 minute (or something) countdown begins.
If 1 min is up and your flag is still there, you score a point.
Respawn 10 seconds (or whatever) after you die at your base/flagpost/respawn point.
After 10 minutes (or something) the round is over, and the team with most points wins.
A tie resolutes in a sudden death with no respawn where next point wins or if other team completely dies.

we run 5 monks and 1 warrior, 1 smiter and 1 r/n flag runner.
our monks/ranger camp flag stand for 30 minutes with life barriers, bonds, 2 bonders, 1 hybrid, 2 healers, aegis 24/7.

our warrior/smiter hide off to the side untill 30minutes
AT VoD our monks run back into our base and the enemy team usually follows, then we wtfpwngank em.

we're 38-1.

they need to

1. turn guild lord into priest
2. remove the flag stand
3. remove catapulst and all that crap
4. make the maps smaller
5. faster
